Expect to See These Runway Trends in Paris this Autumn 2025

September 13, 2025
I'm already excited for autumn 2025 in Paris since, according to the biggest runway trends at Paris Fashion Week, it's going to be a chic season. As a fan of layering, the colder seasons have always been my favorite. I just love piling on as many clothes as I can and styling them according to my tastes and, if I can, to the latest trends too. So what can we expect for autumn 2025? A little bit of boho-chic here, some modern-day prep there, and a touch of color-blocking for good measure. I'm ready to shop till I drop to get the best of them in my wardrobe next season!

Boho Chic

Ever since Chemena Kamali showed her debut Fall 2024 collection at Chloé, boho-chic returned to the scene. The girls were living for the flouncy maxi-dresses, relaxed jeans, thigh-high boots, fringed jackets, and more. This free esprit returned for her Fall 2025 collection too, albeit with a little more romance. Her signature floor-length flowiness and low-rise bottoms were all there, looking chicer than ever. It didn't take long for me to get into the look myself last season, and I'm sure I'll be rocking boho-chic again this autumn. Many of my girlfriends and I are already excited!

Sparkling Sequins

The moment I saw sequins appear on the Fendi runway last Fashion Week, I knew it was gonna be a big trend. Then I saw that divine wine-colored sequined cocktail dress at Dries Van Noten in Paris Fashion Week, and it practically confirmed my suspicions. And I get it! In these troubling times, a little bit of sparkle is enough to put a pep in anyone's step. It's no wonder these shiny piettes also appear in day-wear, from chic trench coats to t-shirts you can pair with jeans. It's going to be a glittery autumn in Paris this year!

Bright Color-Blocking

From Gucci to Saint Laurent, major fashion houses turned to color-blocking to add some pizzazz to your autumn wardrobes this year. And I love them for it! I'd gotten a little tired of neutrals when quiet luxury was the biggest trend last year. My eyes were craving some major hues, so I'm glad the biggest brands delivered! I especially love Saint Laurent's 1980s-esque take on it as it harkened back to when Yves was still at the helm. All of those striking tangerines, fuschias, and olive greens were delicious to see!

Chocolate Brown & Butter Yellow

As for autumn 2025's best colors to wear, it's all about brown and yellow. Specifically, chocolate brown and butter yellow. Sounds like such a delicious color combo, doesn't it? I was never one to mix my chocolates with butter—even as a Parisian myself!—but I can't deny that this is a stellar color combo for the season. I especially loved the chic tunic-like dresses Altuzarra and Emilia Wickstead sent down their runways this season. It felt like I was indulging in some chocolate ice cream in Paris. Though when it comes to butter yellow, I'm good on just accessorizing with the color.

Lace & Lingerie

I have to give kudos to many major fashion houses for bringing back lace and lingerie dressing this season. I saw it on the runways of the likes of Valentino, Christian Dior, Chloé, Stella McCartney, Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Carolina Herrera, among many others. And most of their lace pieces were pretty transparent, too! I found it all pretty empowering, especially since this trend is coming at a time when women's rights are a hot-button issue. The girls and the dolls are ready to bear it all from the runway to the streets this autumn 2025, showing off a sliver of our bodies that we have total control over!

Classic Knitwear

For those who do prefer to stay covered up this autumn 2025, especially when it gets colder in Paris, you can still hop on the classic knitwear trend. I know, it sounds strange for such a Parisian autumn wardrobe staple to be a trend this year, but there's no denying that it was a huge presence on the runways last Fall 2025 Fashion Week. It was in Prada, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Laurent, and more. Some came in bright colors, others amped up the knitted craft, but all in all, they looked chic and cozy.

Leopard Print

The girls are gonna go wild, and honestly, I'm hear for all of it! I don't know why designers decided to amp up their animal print for autumn 2025, but I'm so happy they did. And I'm especially excited that leopard spots are the it-print of the season! The chic pattern appeared in Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Saint Laurent, No. 21, and Brandon Maxwell, to name a few. I particularly like that many Milan shows featured it this season, almost as if they're reclaiming their signature sexy Italian look a'la La Dolce Vita! I'm so ready to look like a 1950s Italian movie star this autumn!

Faux Fur

I'll be spending Christmas in Paris this year, foregoing my usual trip to the French Riviera because of family. Surprisingly, I'm not all that bummed I'll have to contend with the cold for the holiday season this year. Why? Because this gives me an excuse to indulge in another awesome autumn 2025 trend: faux fur! Fur coats were all over the Fall 2025 runways back in March. They appeared at Balenciaga, Simone Rocha, Prada, Michael Kors, and Gucci. I know it's not exactly PC to still wear fur these days, but these are faux and they look painstakingly chic!

Slouchy Bag

Now, let's talk about the it-bag of the season: the slouchy purse. From Chloé and Fendi to Giorgio Armani and Balenciaga, all of the season's best bags looked soft and supple. I'm not a huge fan of the trend myself cause I like my purses sturdy, but I can't deny that they look good. There's even something intrinsically feminine about it, which is probably why I'm sure the girls are ready for the trend this autumn 2025. I might just buy the Fendi bag myself this season, and I'm sure I'll be using it again and again!
