NEIGHBORHOOD

The 8th arrondissement is home to the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, probably the most famous avenue in the world. This is a district where the celebrities of fashion design, painting, cinema and theatre are born.

This impressive promenade stretches from the Place the la Concorde to the Place Charles de Gaulle, the site of the Arc de Triomphe.

Its western end is bordered by cinemas, theatres, cafés and luxury shops. Near the Place de la Concorde, the street is bordered by the Jardins des Champs-Elysées, beautifully arranged gardens with fountains and some grand buildings including the Grand and Petit Palais on the southern side and the Elysée at its northern end.

The Champs-Elysées is the main site for all Paris' major celebrations. This is where Parisians celebrate New Year's Eve and where the military parades are held on the 14th of July. Historic national events, like the Liberation at the end of the second World War or the victory in the World Cup are also celebrated here.

The 8th is also home to the Arc de Triomphe, and close to the Trocadero and Palais de Chaillot, Madeleine church, Concorde Plaza, the Palais de la Decouverte, Petit Palais Museum, and the Grand Palais. This is a great apartment! Excellent location, comfortable furnishings, completely stocked kitchen, and very modern bathrooms. In addition, the staff was very responsive to our needs and Aaron, our personal manager, was quick to supply what we needed and did a couple of minor repairs quickly. He was great! The only downside for us was that it is near a very busy street (Malsherbes) with much truck and garbage collection traffic, especially in the early morning. If we kept the windows closed, it was ok. But, it was quite hot and we needed to open the windows to cool down the apartment. (It is not air-conditioned but does have multiple fans.) We would stay there again!

I happily recommend this comfortable apartment. It's centrally located while still avoiding a touristy area. Not only was Aaron, our apartment contact, helpful in orienting us upon arrival, but also he was exceptionally responsive to any questions we had during our stay.

The apartment was quite comfortable and suited our needs - two adults with two teenage girls. Very clean and tidy - great internet- did not use the TV. Beds were comfortable and linen of good quality. As the apartment is facing the street and on the first (European) floor, the street noise can intrude. However, we were in a busy part of the city so street sounds go with the territory. The meeting with Valentine to greet us was seamless as we also used the transfer service from CGG which worked out as well after a long travel day. When we departed, we just left the keys and walked out as we had to move up our departure time and Valentine was unable to meet us. The building felt very secure and the location was very good. A few minutes walk to the Metro, grocery and decent bistros. Ten minute walk to the Seine. The information provided ahead of time regarding shopping locations, restaurants, etc. was quite helpful. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend this flat to anyone who is going to have an extended stay in Paris. Working with Welcome2France was quite direct and information about the apartment and payments etc. was readily available on their private website.

We have stayed in this apartment for a week in March for the last 6 years, which alone should say how much we like it. It has been ideal on every level. It is a perfect and most beautiful location to experience the real Paris as opposed to the "tourist" Paris. Everything can be walked to or is an easy Metro ride. The apartment itself has all you need and is extremely comfortable for cooking or relaxing. Last week, we were the first to experience the recent renovations to the apartment which created 2 bathrooms out of the previous one, with no loss of other space. This has made the apartment better even for two people but, for 3 or 4, which we have experienced, it will be a huge improvement.

We just stayed in this apartment for 11 days. It is an excellently located and well appointed apartment close to restaurants, bistros, cafes, shopping areas (Galerie Lafayette and Printemp are two blocks away) and public transportation. There are designer clothing stores surrounding the apartment ! There is also a large Monoprix down the road on Boulevard Malsherbes. You can get everything you want there including fresh meat, vegetables and fruit. We did not encounter any issues with the noise previously raised by other customers. The apartment windows are double glazed and the neighbours were quiet. The apartment had a washing machine/dryer, a dishwasher and a very reliable wifi service. To improve the experience I suggest the provision of drying racks and a printer. Whilst some people may be comfortable with using the clothing dryer function withe the washing machine, this is not a viable option for all customers. Sam provided prompt and helpful service along the way - he promptly replaced the clothes iron when we had a problem with it. Great service, Sam! I would not hesitate renting this apartment again in future.
