August tends to be one of the calmer months in Paris. The height of summer has passed, autumn is right around the corner, and most Parisians are on vacation. After Pride Month in June and Bastille Day in July, it makes sense that the city takes a breather in August. But make no mistake! This month is far from boring! This August 2025, for instance, the city has Rock en Seine, Jazz en la Villette, and the Silhouette Festival. I’m sure it’s gonna be a fun time in Paris!

August 2025 in Paris is set to be one for the books. The city has all sorts of exciting events in store for next month, including music festivals, religious holidays, and more. There’s no other place you’d rather be than in Paris this August 2025.

How Hot will Paris be this August?
First things first, it's worth noting that August is among the hottest times of the year in Paris. The temperature typically ranges from an average of about 24°C to 29°C (75°F to 84°F), which isn't necessarily unbearable, but still quite hot. If you're planning to attend any or all of the events on this list, be sure to dress accordingly. Many of the city's usual events tend to take place outside, such as Cinéma en Plein Air, Rock en Seine, and Jazz à la Villette. Avoid the risk of getting a heat stroke by dressing lightly and bringing a fan and some water for hydration.See Blackpink Live in Paris!
Now, let's head on over to the main events. I'm sure one of the most highly anticipated concerts in Paris this summer is Blackpink's Deadline tour. Jennie, Jissoo, Lisa, and Rose will take to the stage at no less than Stade de France, the country's national stadium. Since it's located in the Paris suburbs, I'm already dreading the traffic to get to the venue and back, but I still have my ticket and am all fired up! This is the first time we'll see these four fabulous stars together on stage after three years, so I'm sure I and many other Blinks out there are more than ready for the show!Where: Stade de France - 93200 Saint-Denis, France

Watch More Movies Outside
The second half of Cinéma en Plein Air's 2025 edition will take place from August 2 to 20, 2025. I'm personally more excited about this month's slate of films than July’s. The event will screen some of my faves this August, including “Black Swan” (2010), Natalie Portman's Academy Award-winning film, and the cult-classic, “Eyes Wide Shut” (1999), Stanley Kubrick's final masterpiece. Moreover, the outdoor cinema will also feature various French and Spanish films, further proving that Cinéma en Plein Air is and has always been a bona fide cinephile event.Where: Parc de la Villette - 211 Avenue Jean Jaurès, 75019 Paris, France

Celebrate the Assumption of Mary
If any of you are Roman Catholic like I am, you might want to attend Paris's annual Assumption Day celebrations at Notre Dame. It remains one of the city's biggest religious celebrations, and that's saying something considering how much less religious the French capital is nowadays. I also find it quite moving, from the solemn vigil in the iconic cathedral's candle-lit space to the scenic procession that takes place around the church and along the Seine. I'm sure even the most skeptical of atheists will still find such a scene pretty moving.Where: Notre-Dame de Paris - 6 Parvis Notre-Dame - Pl. Jean-Paul II, 75004 Paris, France

Rock on by the Seine!
I'd say that Rock en Seine is one of Paris's biggest music festivals every summer. Held at Parc de Saint-Cloud, which is only a mile away from the city center, it's one of the very few times in the year when Parisians get to rock out to their hearts' content. This upcoming 2025 edition, for instance, will feature as many as 75 popular artists across six different stages. I'm sure many of you have heard of Queens of the Stone Age or Empire of the Sun, right? How about Jorja Smith or Vampire Weekend? Surely you know about Chappel Roan, too, right? Well, they'll all be at this year's Rock en Seine!Where: Parc de Saint-Cloud - 1 Avenue de la Grille d'Honneur, 92210 Saint-Cloud, France

Listen to Jazz in Parc de la Villette
If you prefer jazz, you'll undoubtedly want to attend Jazz à la Villette, another of Paris's biggest music festivals held every summer. Held in Parc de la Villette's various music halls in the 19th arrondissement, the event features some of the biggest names and the most exciting up-and-coming artists in the genre. This year alone will have the likes of Jeff Mills, Shabaka, Rejjie Snow, Rita Paid, and Sona Jobarteh, among many others. I'm not a huge jazz fan myself, but I have attended the festival in some years, and I gotta say—they're worth every penny!Where: Parc de la Villette - 211 Avenue Jean Jaurès, 75019 Paris, France

Discover New Short Films
I've always thought that Paris is the best city for cinephiles, and its many film festivals prove that. One that I consider to be a major highlight is the upcoming Silhouette Short Film Festival at Parc de la Butte du Chapeau Rouge. This year's edition will start on August 29th and will run until September 6th. I already plan to go every night, and I'm sure I'll discover new cinematic gems that you won't find anywhere else. I've always found it a shame that this is the only relatively famous film festival that truly highlights short films.Where: Parc de la Butte du Chapeau Rouge - 5 Avenue Debidour, 75019 Paris, France
