My favorite season in Paris is and will always be autumn. I know most people love it here in Spring or even enjoy the icy wonderland of winter, but autumn turns the city into a literal painting! Claude Monet himself could never have made a painting that would accurately depict just how beautiful Paris becomes around this time of year. When the leaves change color and that fall foliage descends upon the city, it's over! Don't believe me? Go to Bois de Vincennes, Place Dauphine, Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, or even take a stroll through Le Marais. These places have the best fall foliage in Paris!

Fall foliage transforms an already beautiful Paris into a picturesque scene that no painting could ever do justice to! Some spots even look more breathtaking when the season takes over and puts that autumn twilight into full view!

Bois de Vincennes
Let's start with Bois de Vincennes, one of the more underrated parks in Paris. “Enchanting” doesn't even begin to describe this massive green space in the 12th arrondissement. It doesn't even look or feel like a typical city park, which is no surprise considering it used to be part of a royal residential estate back in the day. And when the fall foliage paints the usually green oasis into the perfect autumn scenery, the place will take your breath away! Don't miss the scene along Lac Daumesnil, where the famous Temple of Love still stands, as if it's a portal to another world.Where: Rte de la Pyramide, 75012 Paris, France
Bois de Boulogne
Since it used to be the hunting grounds for the French royal court and other aristocrats, the Bois de Boulogne provides a touch of the French countryside within Paris. From its woodlands to its more lush fields, the place offers a fabulous escape from the rest of the city. Hence, as autumn turns the leaves here into different colors, Bois de Boulogne looks even more majestic than usual. Not even Claude Monet himself could've painted a picture that would've accurately reflected just how lovely the park gets every autumn.Where: 75016 Paris, France

Jardin des Tuileries
There's no doubt the ever-famous Jardin des Tuileries in the 1st arrondissement is beautiful, no matter the time of year. I particularly enjoy spending time here with friends every spring, basking in as much sunlight as we can after hiding ourselves for most of the winter. But I do have to admit that the park is at its most beautiful in autumn. You should especially see that iconic row of trees when it's all orange and yellow. It's such a fabulous burst of color, you could practically taste it!Where: 75001 Paris, France
Parc Monceau
Visiting Parc Monceau always makes me feel like I've been whisked away to a fantasy land. From its famous bridge to the grand columns, you can't look at this park and not remember the fairytales you loved when you were younger. Though I personally think that the park is more beautiful when it's bright green during spring, I can't deny that the fall foliage gives it an almost Tolkien-like wonder, too. That's how breathtaking the park gets every autumn!Where: 75008 Paris, France

Cimetière du Père-Lachaise
If you're weirded out by how people visit the cemeteries in Paris for leisure, visit Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in autumn. They don't call it Paris's most beautiful cemetery for nothing! From its stone angels to its grand mausoleums, you'd be surprised how picturesque a graveyard actually is. And as if to add to that eerie elegance, the fall foliage provides a sepia-toned vibe that's unlike any other. You'd feel as if you walked into an Impressionist painting!Where:75020 Paris, France
Cimetière de Montmartre
It's a shame that many tend to overlook Cimetière de Montmartre, as its popularity is often overshadowed by that of Cimetière du Père-Lachaise. I'd say that the latter is nearly as famous as many of the city's iconic spots, and it's no surprise to see why. What is surprising, however, is that Paris has more than one picturesque cemetery. Cimetière de Montmartre is undoubtedly another one that's worth visiting, especially in autumn. The fall foliage makes the place look so heartwarming, so cozy that you'd want to have a picnic here. Unfortunately, that's not allowed.Where: 20 Avenue Rachel, 75018 Paris, France

Place Dauphine
For those who don't know, Place Dauphine is a fairly small public square in the 1st arrondissement. You could almost say that it's a hidden plaza since it's practically surrounded by big old-world buildings. But what it may lack in grandeur, it more than makes up for with its tall trees. Not only do they provide some much-needed botanical bliss in this very concrete space, but they add nice pops of color against the sandy neutral-washed buildings. Naturally, Place Dauphine gets even more colorful when autumn turns the trees into lovely shades of auburn, marigold, crimson, and more.Where: 75001 Paris, France
Place des Vosges
Another fairly closed-off tree-lined public square in Paris is Place des Vosges, tucked away between the 3rd and 4th arrondissements. One of the oldest public squares in the city, its old-world appeal is through the roof, especially with the beautiful fountain at its center. And of course, you can't miss it when the fall foliage takes over the scene. The usually bright green square turns into a wonder palette of autumn colors as October goes into November and beyond. It's a great place to take a break while still staying within the center of the city.Where: 75004 Paris, France

Le Marais
I always thank my lucky stars that I live in Paris's famous Le Marais district in the 3rd arrondissement. Not only is it one of the trendiest parts of town, but I also regard it as one of the city's most beautiful neighborhoods. And for Paris, that's saying something! Don't believe me? Then stroll through the area in autumn! Since Le Marais is a tree-lined district, the fall foliage gives the entire place a more painterly look. I always see it, too, since there's a big tree right by my window. The sight is quintessentially Parisian at its finest!Avenue des Camoens
Speaking of quintessentially Parisian sights, you can't get any more Parisian than the iconic Eiffel Tower itself! And if you want to get an extraordinary view of it, head to Avenue des Camoens when autumn is at its peak! This hidden gem showcases the famous tower in all its steel glory, complete with a few tall trees to complete a more picturesque look. Of course, the place gets even more vibrant when autumn turns such lush greenery into the most luscious shades of tangerine, saffron, and merlot.Where: 75116 Paris, France
