Paris in September 2025: What to Expect

August 02, 2025
I know September is still a few months away, but I’m already excited about it. Paris already has a lot of exciting events in store this September 2025, and I’ll be going to practically all of them! If you'll be in Paris at that time, too, you can see me shopping at Les Puces, visiting Palais Royal during France's European Heritage Days, and going to the Drake concert. Yes, all of that and more will happen in the “City of Lights” this September, and it’s just the start of autumn!

Paris in September 2025: What to Expect

See International Artists Live in Paris!

Paris always has some of the most amazing and hotly anticipated concerts, and this September is no different. Post Malone is set to take his “Big A**” tour to the city this September 3rd, featuring fellow American rapper Jelly Roll. They will take to the stage at the La Defense Arena in the Paris suburb of the same name. A few days later, no less than Grammy Award-winning rapper Drake will take over the Accor Arena. He is bringing his “$ome $pecial $hows 4 EU” tour to the iconic Accor Arena from September 7th and 8th!

Experience Paris Design Week

I'm a huge interior design fan, so I'm always excited when Paris Design Week rolls around! For those who don't know, this week-long event serves the same purpose as Paris Fashion Week for the fashion industry. It's an entire showcase of the latest pieces, trends, and more in home decor, allowing all sorts of artists, designers, and home furniture brands that aren't Ikea to present their works in Paris. The showcases usually take place in the Design District in the 7th arrondissement, and though it's an industry-exclusive event, many participating galleries and boutiques will still open their doors to the public.

Immerse Yourself in Les Traversées du Marais

You'll want to hang out in my hometown, Le Marais, this September 5 to 7, 2025! Les Traversées du Marais will take over the 4th arrondissement in the month's first full weekend, featuring over 45 free cultural events throughout the famed Parisian neighborhood. Expect live performances, film screenings, art exhibitions, and even kids' events in places like the iconic Centre Pompidou, Musée des Arts et Métiers, Carnavalet Museum, the Picasso Museum, and the Swedish Institute, among many others. Not only is it a great way to get some culture during your Paris stay, but you don't even have to spend a single cent to get inside all of them, too!

Have Fun at The “Paris is Worth a Party” Festival

Contrary to what it sounds like, the “Paris is Worth a Party” Festival isn't a city-wide rave with people drinking and dancing to their hearts' content. It's certainly part of that, but it's not what the event is all about. This two-day “party” will mainly show off what Parisian life has been like for over 1,500 years. Starting with the Middle Ages and ending with the country's Liberation at the end of World War II, you'll see various enactments, live performances, and more chronicling the city's extensive history. I admit this doesn't sound as fun as the event's name suggests, but I still think it will be a good time, and I’ll be there!

Enjoy Car-Free Paris on Two Sundays

Imagine the scenic streets and beautiful neighborhoods of Paris free of its carbon monoxide-polluting cars and automobiles! Sounds too good to be true? Well, Paris will make it a reality starting this September! The city's annual Car-Free Sunday will happen next month, specifically on September 7th and 21st. The first will be a sort of test run for the main event, which will be on the 21st, coinciding with France's European Heritage Days. Both days will give a rare glimpse of what Paris is like without all the loud cars, hectic traffic jams, and all that jazz!

When: September 7 and 21, 2025

Go to Famous Paris Landmarks for Free!

Speaking of the upcoming European Heritage Days in Paris, this is arguably the best time to be in the city this September! This two-day event, happening from the 20th to the 21st, will give you the opportunity to visit many of the city's beloved cultural landmarks for free. Yes, you read that right! You can check out Paris's museums, palaces, and more free of charge! The likes of Banque de France, Élysées Palace, and Palais Royal will take center stage this year, as the theme this edition will be “Architectural Heritage.” You wouldn't want to miss it!

Browse Through Art Studios at Père-Lachaise

I find it sad that Père-Lachaise remains one of Paris's lesser-known neighborhoods. Perhaps it's because it's all the way in the 20th arrondissement? Or is it that it’s fairly far from the city's most iconic spots? Either way, I love the area and I'll be visiting this September for its annual Open Studios. Happening on September 21st, also coinciding with the European Heritage Days, this is a rare chance for the public to see local artists' studios, ateliers, and workshops in full view and for free! I've gone to this event several times over the years, and it's always exciting to see true creativity right before my very eyes.

When: September 21, 2025

Check Out The “Sargent: The Paris Years” Exhibition

I'm so excited for Musée d'Orsay's upcoming “Sargent: The Paris Years” exhibition since John Singer Sargent is one of my favorite artists. I've always regarded him as among the finest painters in history, right up there with the likes of Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Monet, and Picasso. And I'm so glad that he's finally getting more of the recognition he deserves, and in Musée d'Orsay, no less! The exhibit will showcase 90 of his best and most famous works from his time in Paris from 1874 to 1884. I'm sure his iconic “Madame X” masterpiece will be the star of the show!

Shop at Les Puces

Bargain-hunters, rejoice! Les Puces will return this September 2025! Expect to see over 3,000 vintage stalls and antique dealers take over the iconic Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen on September 26th, offering up the world's biggest flea market! I go there every year and I always come back with about two to three big canvas bags filled with vintage clothes, cool knick-knacks, and more. I'm even confident to say that I got practically 50% of my wardrobe and home decor from here, and they've lasted me for a long time.

Prepare for Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week may just be beginning on September 29th, but it's still worth mentioning here. This highly publicized event tends to take over Paris in a big way, often causing traffic jams in all sorts of places. Whether it's the fans and paparazzi trying to snap their favorite celebs at the fashion shows or the big brands themselves staging their shows in some of the busiest parts of the city, this week-long frenzy affects most of the city. It's not just those who love fashion that tend to get caught up in all the craziness. Even we civilians are affected because of it, so it's best to prepare for all that hassle beforehand!
