Where Should You Stay During The Paris 2024 Olympics?

June 01, 2024
If you're planning on watching the Paris 2024 Olympics live, you'll want to stay near the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées district, the Opera district, or even the Paris Suburbs. These are just some of the areas where the games will be held. Paris is preparing some of its most famous spots to serve as the perfect arenas for the world's best athletes. At any given time, you'll want to avoid these places since they're usually filled with tourists. But during the global sports event, renting a luxury apartment in these districts will have you stay close to all the sporty action!

Paris Suburbs

Let's start with the Paris Suburbs. For those who aren't too familiar with how Paris is laid out, the Paris Suburbs are various neighborhoods along the outskirts of the French capital. Though a fair distance away from the city center, these areas are fairly urban and more peaceful compared to the main arrondissements. It's within these districts where you'll find Stade de France, Disneyland Paris, the Palaces of Versailles, and more. Naturally, since they're far less popular compared to the central districts, they're great places for you to settle down, even during the Paris 2024 Olympics. Don't worry! Some parts of the suburbs will host the games too.

Passy

Located in the 16th arrondissement, Passy is the most affluent neighborhood in Paris. Beyond the usual luxury apartments and chic penthouses, people here live in big townhouses and full-blown mansions too. If you can afford it, you can live the most upscale life in this part of the city. But why is Passy also a great place to stay during Paris 2024? Because it's fairly near both the Seine River and the Eiffel Tower. Both popular spots will feature heavily during the upcoming Summer Olympics, but at the same time, there's a safe distance between these places and Passy too, allowing you to still have some peace amidst all the hullaballoo.

Champs-Élysées District

Another great and upscale neighborhood in Paris is the Champs-Élysées district. Known for its eponymous avenue that leads up to the iconic Arc de Triomphe, the place is also lined with designer boutiques, luxury department stores, and high-class restaurants, among many others. Since it's also in the 8th arrondissement, the neighborhood is also near many of Paris's famous spots that will host the Olympic Games. There's the Grand Palais, for example, which will host the fencing and taekwondo matches. Pont Alexandre III, on the other hand, will cycling and swimming races.

Opera District

Arguably the best kind of place to stay in Paris during the Summer Olympics this year lets you stay fairly near the game venues but not so close that you're in the middle of all the action. Take the Opera district in the 9th arrondissement, for example. Named after the iconic Opera Garnier, the neighborhood’s centerpiece, the area is near various game venues, namely the Grand Palais, Pont Alexandre III, and the Porte de La Chapelle Arena. You won't exactly be neighbors with these venues, but it won't take you long to get to them from here. If you're willing, you can even walk to these famous spots too!

Latin Quarter

The Latin Quarter in the 5th arrondissement has such youthful and creative energy, it's a great place to stay even when it's not the Paris 2024 Olympics. Since this is where many prestigious universities and colleges are located, most of its population comprises students and young professionals. Naturally, the cafes, bars, and bistros here also cater to this age range. If you want to relax and just hang out in between watching the Olympic Games, this is a great place to enjoy your time.
